Andromache (pronounced Andromeca) is also a new addition to the barn. She is a five year old registered Connemara pony mare owned by Kate's youngest and most dedicated student, her neighbor Bevin Chenoweth-Lexa. She was purchased in the spring of 2011 as Bevin's first pony, and the two of them have been making leaps and bounds together ever since.

Andromache has been learning a good foundation of basics in flatwork and jumping. Bevin accompanies me on many of my cross country hacks to expose her pony to rivers, hills, cows and natural jumps. Through this, Andromache is learning balance, bravery, and independent thought that is important to any event horse. Both Bevin and the pony are inexperienced but fearless and eager to learn. The hacks through the fields, rivers and forests help both pony and child naturally develop good balance and confidence.
Bevin hopes that this fall she will have solidified her relationship with Andromache, and the two can explore some opportunities to show off their talents. We are considering both eventing as well as some pony races! Look for these two in the future
